Racism is NOT power+prejudice, it's just prejudice

Let us approach this topic with just a modecom  of logical thought. Racism has almost always been defined as the belief that one's race is superior to another race. It goes without saying that racists are far more prone to oppressing, and it can be said racism and oppression of other races(than whatever race x racist happens to be) will go hand in hand. There is little logical reason to oppress a group of people you consider to be equal with you. That's why demonization of enemies has always been a thing, but that's not really the point. This definition has been fine for decades. Let's start the analysis of the power+prejudice definition of racism now. First aspect of the new definition is power. What exactly is meant by power? Well, as this is a definition adopted only by this movement, we can only look at what they say. They seem to believe that power refers to institutional power. Like governmental positions and the like. The problem I have with this is that it can...

Incels are equal parts interesting and sad

I was watching a video made by TL;DR. Who makes amazing evidence driven videos on youtube. He decided to talk about the issue of social isolation and how that affects incels. He made some interesting points that got me thinking. I would definitely recommend the video if you have some interest in the subject yourself. Personally, I find incels to be rather pitiable, but interesting nonetheless. Incels are entirely unique to the modern era. Sure, there may have been incels throughout history; however, they were not very vocal about that. We now live in the era where you can be extremely vocal no matter who you are. So maybe these people have always existed, but we are now finding out about them. Either way, it is definitely an interesting study in social interactions between humans. For those that do not know, an incel is an involuntary celibate. Meaning they want to have a romantic partner, but cannot find one. I won't repeat the points made in the TL;DR video. If you want to watch ...

My take on #metoo part 2: double edged sword

#metoo is not a movement that is bad by default. All it's intended to do is provide a safe space(shudder) for women to come out as having been sexually harassed or raped by men in power. It has brought down pretty big names in almost every place. Politicians, celebrities, comedians, Hollywood, etc. I do think that it is at least somewhat a good thing. Rape and sexual assault by men in power has been a problem for a long time. Not just for women, but children too. Especially in Hollywood. That said, #metoo is not without its faults. One of those faults is worsening the relationship between men and women. Not just in the workplace, but in dating and the personal life too. What we are seeing with #metoo is akin to McCarthyism. I'm not saying that all women coming out are liars, but they could be. Some are liars. Some have been proven liars. It's happened way too many times. A completely innocent man is accused of sexual harassment or rape, and his life is ruined for it. He lo...

My take on #metoo part 1: The vicious cycle of online dating

It has been a fact for a long time that both men and women's happiness is on the decline. Poll after poll shows an increase in depression and suicide, and just an overall decrease of happiness. One of the biggest reasons for this is dating; or rather, the lack thereof. An increasing number of men and women are single. More and more of them are not interested in dating, or just feel it's too much of a hassle. There are plenty of reasons for this. We live in an age like no other. You don't have to date. It's no longer societally expected of you. That fact makes some people decide they don't want to date. There's also the advent of social media to talk about. Things like Facebook and Instagram and Snapchat have forever changed the dating game. For the worse, in my own opinion. Especially with online dating. I've talked about the vicious cycle of online dating before, but I'll elaborate again for those that don't know what I'm on about. Men play ...

The 3 legs of life

So, this is technically a repost. I didn't like the format of the other ones, so I deleted them. Anyways, this post will explain what I like to call the 3 legs of life. It was a concept explained in a YouTube video I once watched and I thought it was interesting. So basically, it's like this. There are 3 legs of life. Social, love, and work. Social includes things like hanging out with your friends, or family, or whoever. Love is obvious. Work also includes school. So, you have those three legs. In order to be good at ony one of them, you have to focus on that one more than the other two. I think of it like this. You have 100% focus to work with. You CAN give 1/3 of that focus to each leg, but then each leg will only have around 33% focus. That's not alot. You'll basically suck at everything. You can distribute your focus however you want, but being a jack of all trades doesn't seem to be very conducive to liking life. So, what are your priorities? How do YOU distr...

Who am I? Part 1

So, I was told I can be creative with this. As a result, I've decided to do something different every time. Something that gets me far out of my comfort zone. It's my belief that doing things you don't normally do is the best way to get to know yourself. Today I did.......five finger fillet, or the knife game. And I must say. I've found my new hobby. That was so fucking fun. It really was. Before whoever reading this gets their panties up in a bunch about safety, don't worry. I'm not stupid. I got a knife. Towels and stuff to clean and treat the cuts I'll inevitably get. Also, said cuts are pretty harmless. Sure, they hurt. That hurt will make the body learn to fuck up less. Other than that, it's not dangerous. You aren't slamming the knife down, just tapping it. Hard enough to cut sure, but not hard enough to stab through your hand or anything. Most times, it just deflects off. I did stab my thumb right in the middle when I was going at it pretty ha...

Helping others and my hypocrisy

I think everybody is hypocritical about at least one thing. It's unavoidable. If nothing else, I've learned one thing this week. I DO help people in need. I thought for the longest time that I would just not care. Not my business. Leave it alone. All that stuff. And maybe that is how I think, but I help anyways. Why? To answer that, I need to explain a bit about myself. As you should well know by now, I'm autistic. That fact has haunted me my whole life. In more ways then one. In this case, it was fake kindness. I've talked about this before. People befriended me because I was the autistic kid. The one with no friends. Not because they wanted to get to know me. They pitied me. It was more than that though. They wanted to look good. Think about it. How nice do you look if you befriend the autistic kid? It couldn't have less to do with being kind. It's simply selfish. That's fake kindness. Now that is out of the way, let's go back to the main question. Why...
